At the tail end of 2019 I had lost the point of what I was doing and why. Within a few months the pandemic began and so did working from home. At this point I was fed up with life, and now my job was a roommate too. My 30th birthday, in February, had me thinking about which way I wanted life to go. Working very hard for 8 years aimlessly had taken its toll.
Fed up, I quit my job. I organised a new job for November and took the summer off, that's when I noticed my camera.
Going out and wandering the streets, looking at oddities and obscurities is what I aim for in my photography. I look to create images with layers of meaning or those that make you look twice to understand what’s going on. Hours pass and I'm oblivious, just stuck in a daydream I don't want to leave.
The photos chosen showcase my determination to encourage another glance. Surprisingly to my 2019, all I needed was just a pinch of colour and a tonne of grey.
My photography brought me joy I have not felt in years, I wish you the same.
