Sara Melin, also known as TIDDIT, is an intermedia artist from Sweden, currently based in Dublin.
Her work involves repositioning found objects, fragments, moments, sounds, emotions, and places. With the aim to point to the unseen, the spaces in-between the letters, the otherwise silent in the mass of noise, she carefully listens and places these things into non-visual and visual structures.
With an intense focus on impulse and improvisation, she weaves strings of sound into her practice and connects early childhood poetry with field recordings and song.
The work Itself² (a suitcase with a piece of paper sewn to its top) describes what is, or could be, the contents of the case. The suitcase and its archived contents will, after the show's finish, be donated to The National Irish Visual Arts Library (NIVAL).
If the forest is on fire but no one is there to witness, does it really burn?
