When it comes to designing creative products for people with disabilities, so often products are designed 'at' the user, not 'for' the user. With the NoodleTone I wanted to change that.
The user is always at the centre of my projects. Working closely with the students and staff at Enable Ireland Sandymount School ensured I could design something they wanted, not something I thought they wanted.
The NoodleTone is a social, modular, sensory-rich musical instrument designed to give children with physical and complex needs the opportunity to express themselves through music. Designed for accessibility, the NoodleTone can be played individually or socially in a classroom setting.
