The themes explored in my artwork include youth, relationships and coming of age. It seeks to narrate the limbo of responsibilities I am faced with as I progress through my twenties. I utilise a mix of different mediums, blending digital artwork, collage, paint, print and oil pastel together into colourful portraits with a retro aesthetic.
The figures faces are covered with various fruits or items that add an extra layer of charm and playfulness. The childlike quality of the work captures the feeling of growing up, but still being a bit unsure and hesitant about the world around you. The bold line work is representative of the journey, and the vivid colours signify the excitement and vibrancy of life’s adventures in your mid-twenties. Overall, the imagery is uplifting and encourages viewers to relish or reminisce upon the adventures of their twenties.
