Edith Scott's work responds to the Global Pandemic and how it ultimately spiralled into a groundhog day effect. Stuck in this constant loophole left Scott with a desire to get into the 'now'.
Utilising digital photography, paint and print, Scott captures the beauty of the ever changing landscapes flickering between recognition and unknowing. She embraces moving through these landscapes as a source of escapism, living as fully and closely to the fleeting moment; recurring and reflecting on her own embodied experiences.
Scott creates composite visions of place and memory. The artworks are characterised by loose, almost abstract imagery that capture the essence of a moment of time; moments of moving through her local landscape in the Cooley Peninsula.
Presenting us with large scale prints, Scott invites the viewer to become part of the artwork, exploring and immersing themselves in the energy of the moment.
