Home is Where the Heart is is a womenswear collection inspired by family photographs of my childhood homes in Estonia. This collection explores the emotional attachment that is created within the home and the value of material objects and their significance as sites for creating and curating memories of childhood.
From clusters of bed linen with clashing prints to the vintage decor from previous tenants that I have adopted as my own; I aim to capture the beautiful chaos that exists within these photographs and they transport me to a specific place outside of my present.
This collection features mixed media and handicraft inspired elements alongside deadstock upholstery fabrics to create special pieces that inspire a sense of curiosity and appreciation for the past, as well as highlighting the importance of preserving our cultural heritage.
