Eterna Estate is a collection of rustic, maximalist printed textiles designed for domestic interiors that aims to encapsulate the feeling of travelling somewhere new and submerging yourself in the culture, history and architecture that surrounds you. The genesis of the project was the idea of escapism. I travelled to the city of Palermo, Sicily in Summer 2022 to satiate my desire to escape the claustrophobia of the pandemic after having been stuck at home for two years.
This project aims to blend Palermo’s complex, historical landscapes with tile designs to create a muted, colourful collection that feels fresh and innovative while retaining an aura of tradition and timelessness. I chose natural fibres for this collection, focusing on cotton and linen blends for a light, breezy summer feeling. I envision this collection appealing to people with traditional homes looking to inject colour and energy into the space.
