I am an artist that infuses my creations with a sense of recognition as well as uncertainty. My enthusiasm for using a variety of materials alongside my primary medium of ceramics and glass is to depict the reason why our memories cause us grief, but our minds often draw a veil over that sorrow in contrast to the reality of what occurs when death itself discovers us.
Taking as my starting point the fact that we are all organic matter, I created a timeline of hand-built human decomposition studies known as “The Natural Law”. It is based on my personal interest in and knowledge of human anatomy and decay, and addresses the nagging topic we all put off until the last moment.
Ultimately, I hope that my work can help people to confront their grief and feelings on death and find some measure of peace and understanding in the face of this universal final chapter.
