My work is inspired by my time spent wandering around the world making friends and experiencing, firsthand, their different life styles. I love to be able to reflect on these experiences and share them with others through my work. I try to capture these feelings and experiences – the colours, spaces, dimensions, places, things, people, expressions, backgrounds and stories I encounter – through paint and mixed media in order to better understand them, and myself.
Over the last year, I have had the opportunity to experiment with many materials and approaches. I found pastels and acrylic especially charming; particularly the freedom to play and mix them in order to accomplish a range of different tones, while also preserving the individuality of each colour where necessary.
