Within the human condition, there is a constant striving to understand. Our emotional capacities allow us to become strong yet vulnerable, understood yet confused. Our relationship with ourselves is the most important as we question, think and reflect. By separating vulnerable parts of our physical form and recontextualising them through self portraiture, Crowther pays attention to what we may have not previously considered important.
Examining the more complex, forgotten parts of lived experience allows our thoughts to wander. Through moments of introspection, this body of work portrays the conscious and physical as an embodied experience. Utilising screenprint and digital technologies, it is Crowther's intention to invite the audience to cross reference their own inner dialogue as they are met with imagery and sound.
