Katie Reddy is a visual artist and educator based in Co. Kildare. Katie’s work is concerned mostly with the dramaturgy of space through sculptural and scenographic explorations. She uses a range of mediums to create large scale installations.
An exploration of materials is not only important to her art practice, but also features within her teaching practice. Katie's art practice is keen to show both sides of the role of the art educator; showing the perspectives of an artist, and the teacher’s perspective.
Her dissertation research is inspired by her experience in The Change Lab where she explored the Sustainable Development Goal: Good Health and Well Being.
Katie used a range of materials to conduct research focusing on the philosophies of well-being. The research she conducted throughout The Change Lab highlights the overproduction of textiles in our world, and the over consumption of products, media and information. She has since transferred this knowledge into the classroom through conducting art based action research projects and implementing well-being practices.
