Katie Shelton, an artist from Arklow, Co. Wicklow, expresses the nature and beauty of her local shoreline through abstraction in her black and white photography, painting, and digital sketching. Her brush strokes capture the movement and textures of water, while her photography provides a unique perspective by focusing on overlooked elements of the beach landscape.
Her passion for the ocean grew from her childhood experiences along the coast and joining a local rowing club in her teenage years, which exposed her to a different perspective of the shoreline. Katie's captivation with the water's movement, its light reflections, and changing shoreline seeped into her art, inspiring her paintings, drawings, and photos, and with these mediums, she creates large multimedia representations of the coast.
