Emotional Labor is always misunderstood by most people. Paid Companion is also misunderstood but based on the investigation of paid companion customers, people now need emotional support, this kind of emotional work is meaningful. This industry is actually a way for contemporary people to buy emotions for money and to earn a commensurate amount of money for emotional labour. My work visually represents this kind of emotional change in the industry and introduces how is industry work for people.
Through 3D digital modelling video editing, digital photographic and typographic design, the body of the project can represent the digital world of paid companions. To make sure it is borderless and more direct, I’ve interviewed 70 paid companions in the industry, so there are basically no biases. So through this project, I hope to show the current situation of people satisfying their emotional needs in the process of the paid company and to make more people understand the value of emotions.
