Belonging without Believing is a culmination of work exploring the history of Irish Church/ State relations. Each outcome focuses on a unique aspect of our entangled identity, and how this theme affects relationships with ourselves, each other and our environment.
State explores ideas of power, hierarchy, and history. This is expressed in a ten metre long stole, the vestment usually worn around the shoulders of a priest. It is designed to be worn by multiple people to actively encourage community and group reflection.
Space is a set of publications documenting the history of three churches important to my family history. Their sculptural forms challenge our perception of these spaces, and our interaction with physical reality.
Spirituality examines the hybrid metaphysicality of young people today, and the ways in which typography can be designed to convey those fused spiritual practices.
