The collection, The ground itself is kind, black butter, addresses and raises awareness of the environmental significance of the peatlands of Ireland.
These peatlands store huge amounts of carbon, provide habitats for biodiversity, and a home for many species. Without these crucial services, we would be left with considerable challenges to the way we live.
The ground itself is kind, black butter consists of both hand and digitally printed textiles that are designed for upholstery, window treatments and surfaces within interiors.
The bogland has been encapsulated within my collection through the utilisation of natural fabrics, un-dyed and hand-dyed, such as cottons and linens which presents a handcrafted and organic addition to the collection.
