This body of work looks at city living. It explores the grit, gore and grime of city streets and looks at the diverse individuals who occupy these streets. I explore the issues of urban decay, waste, ecology and overcrowding.
I look at the city, its increasing population, the streets and the negative impact overcrowding has. I look at areas that have fallen into disrepair, that are desolate and have been abandoned, and how nature attempts to reclaim these areas. I also look at the people who live and/or work in the city and their everyday actions. I explore routines and focus on the repetitive nature of the every day and mundanity of work and the workplace.
This body of work has been made from mixed media, pencil, ink, paint and hand drawn animation. The imagery used is sourced from my own photographs and videos.
