Forget Me Knot, a womenswear collection aiming to tie together past culture and current fashion in an attempt to ‘knot’ let this generation forget our heritage.
The women of my family have had a historic passion for creating handcrafted products for decades upon generations. The overall inspiration for my collection is Romanian folk dress. This generation intensely conveys a sense of traditional creativity and pride for where you come from, which I find has been neglected in today's fast fashion industry, where purchasers sometimes have no real connection to their purchases.
At the outset, I began by exploring historical decorations and accents to develop my own fabrication. These were then merged with basic designs to create romantic streetwear. Since Romanian folk dress is so colourful, my collection is primarily black and white to highlight the elements and fabrication.
This collection embodies statement garments with a strong visual impact through the essence of playfulness and minimal feminine silhouettes.
