My work is about capturing beauty in the chaos of nature and the simplicity of literal places like the home. It also extends to the earth, nature, the urban environment, city buildings and architecture, and how they co-exist.
While pencil is my primary medium, ink, charcoal, watercolour and collage also also feature in the work. Living in both urban and rural environments informs the work, as does my love of nature.
My drawings capture the mundane and the obvious. They focus on details, simplicity and subtlety. The concept of the house as a vessel informs my practice, as does respecting and preserving what we have in both the city landscape and rural dwellings.
My practice is influenced by artist's Rachel Whiteread, Tabo-Khedoori, Kathy Pendergast, as well as my parents and fellow students.
