Breathing is a fundamental aspect of our existence, yet it is often taken for granted. Ogata’s work explores the intangible qualities of air through the use of form and pattern, seeking to evoke its ethereal quality and constant movement.
Ogata reflects on the beauty and freedom that air provides through the graceful flight and delicate movements of birds. However, the ever-increasing threat of air pollution weighs on her mind. Through her visual narrative, she aims to encourage viewers to take a moment to appreciate the air we breathe and consider the delicate balance between nature, human actions and the air that connects us all.
