The concept of this collection is based on creating transparency through many different techniques while emphasising the importance of experimental stages in creativity. This collection was inspired by architectural building and modern architecture. Fenester is a unisex fashion-fabric collection that allowed me to experiment with many techniques including laser cutting, material manipulation, pleating and weave. The importance of the experimental stages is shown behind the scenes through visual research. Throughout this collection, I have selected materials and yarns that behave in a certain way.
The aesthetics of this collection are based on the shiny, transparency and the matt surfaces of architectural buildings. Colours used in this collection are modern and contemporary. Including black, whites, greys and navies. I have always been drawn to architecture and 3-D surfaces and I wanted to capture this in this collection. Final pieces capture transparency, sharp lines, cut-outs and 3-D elements.
