Department of Product Design
This year’s showcase from the Product Design department celebrates the work of students in the BA Product Design, the BA Interaction Design and MA Interaction Design.
The projects on show engage with a broad range of contemporary design themes including health, the circular economy and artificial intelligence. These themes are addressed in a wide variety of ways when approached through the lens of each of the disciplines within the department. Projects range from designing new forms of bike transport for rail, to using AI to challenge stigmas around menstruation, to recording an ethical will.
Underpinning the work is a human-centered design process that seeks to develop a deep understanding of human behaviour. This process is central to the departmental ethos and informs the design of meaningful solutions that are grounded in real world needs whilst remaining conscious of contemporary societal, cultural, and environmental contexts.
We are proud to present our students work and look forward to the future impact that these students have as they move to the next stage in their careers.
